Don’t Kill The Messenger!

Hello Gorgeous,

Get a garbage bag and dump all the skincare products we have talked about over the past few months, 😤 put the knife down… I’m just kidding!

Although, there is some truth to that statement. Instead of dumping them, you might have to store them for a while. With the change in weather we need to tweak our skin and makeup routine just a tad bit. Which means getting some new products to get through the next few months to prevent you from breaking out, getting a sunburn or having a makeup meltdown.

As much as we would like to stick to familiar routines and products that have worked for us in the past, our skin unfortunately will not react the same to these products in warmer weather. Hence having to replace a few trusted things is essential. Change is unavoidable.. Embrace it!

Skincare:

  • Moisturizer: Replace your heavy duty moisturizer for a water based gel-like formula. They are lighter, and will still give your skin the necessary moisture it needs without making you feel like a grease ball. My current faves:
  • Blotting sheets: For you defiant ones that won’t listen and plan to continue using your winter moisturizer, get blotting sheets ASAP. I have mentioned it in my previous post and if you’re new to my posts…this will give you a chance to binge read 😉 You’re gonna need them. Jokes aside, we all will be needing/using them. Carry them like you would a pack of Kleenex. My all time fave:
  • Sunscreen: At all costs…I sound like a broken record so I’ll stop…my current fave, and it hasn’t broken me out..woo hoo! is:
  • Vitamin C: You could drown yourself in Tropicana OJ, and will still not get the kind of vitamin C you need! Here’s how you get your Vitamin C game on. My current faves:
  • Exfoliate: Exfoliate your face and body to get rid of that dry winter skin. Scrub away and then moisturize so your skin feels like a baby’s behind. Follow with a  lightweight moisturizer, but I don’t have to tell you that. My current fave:

Makeup

I don’t know about you, but the warmer it gets the less makeup I feel like wearing.

  • Blush: Swap powder blushes for cream ones, they last longer in the heat. Coachella or not. If you don’t know what Coachella is..no worries…I didn’t either till a while ago.

Tip to make your makeup last all day
–  Let me know how it works out for you.

After every step, go in with your setting spray. Foundation…spritz, powder…spritz, this will lock down your makeup and that’s what you want gorgeous..isn’t it? Thank me later by sending me selfies…via email of course… (stylist-client confidentiality) and all that….  😉

Until next time, stay classy & fabulous.

Stylishly Yours,
The Closet Stylist.
